21st Century Community Learning Centers

The 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) initiative is a key component of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Magic Valley’s- Rupert Unit and Bickel Elementary programs. BGCMV receives funds from the 21st Century Community Learning Center to offer programming to over 100 at-risk elementary school children (grades K-5) from four of Minidoka County School Districts schools- Acequia, Paul, Heyburn, and Rupert Elementary’s, as well as for 50 at-risk elementary students (K-5) at Bickel Elementary in the Twin Falls School District. Bus transportation is provided by the school district to our two sites at Heyburn and Rupert Elementary. Transportation is provided home after the program at Bickel Elementary. The program operates 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday throughout the school year (38 weeks) at both our Rupert Elementary, Bickel Elementary and Boys & Girls Clubs campuses, and 11 hours per day during school holidays and in-service days at our Boys & Girls Club campus.

The Club provides expanded academic and personal enrichment activities to support and enhance students’ academic achievement and personal growth. 21st CCLC programs provide youth with project- and problem-based programming in Reading and Language Arts, Math, Science, Arts and Music, Physical Education, Character Education, Drug Prevention, and Tutoring.
